BDU started second semester exams with Proctored Remote Exam software

Due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, the final examinations of various departments of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University- BDU, had been postponed for the January-June 2020 semester. Eventually, the university developed a software under the supervision of Professor Munaj Ahmed Noor, the Vice chancellor of the university. They named the software- Proctored Remote Exam Software, PRExa.  After completing the postponed January-June 2020 semester exams using the PRExa software successfully, the July-December 2020 semester exams too have been going on in a beautiful environment using the same software. On Sunday (September 05, 2021) morning, the examinations of the students of the first year second semester of the ICTE program of the university were conducted online successfully in a and beautiful manner by using the PRExa software. Candidates are sent the required information for the test before the start of the test, such as updated version of the PRExa software used for the test, usage rules, user authentication of the software and video tutorials on using the PRExa software via email provided by the University. Muhammad Shahinul Kabir, Senior Systems Analyst at the University, gave guidance on how to conduct a complete test using PRExa software. Other members of the ICT team, including university programmer Anit Kumar Roy, played a key role in updating the PRExa software under the guidance of a senior systems analyst. University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Munaj Ahmed Noor observes the exams online and encourages everyone to take the exam in a successful and beautiful environment using such a software for the first time in Bangladesh. Invigilators supervised students' exams from their respective PRExa software panels. Invigilators alert students by notifying the panel of PRExa Software if they engage in any form of disrespect or conduct during the test. Md. Ashrafuzzaman, Head of Education Department and Farzana Akhter, Head of ICT Department and other teachers expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the University Administration and ICT team for successfully and successfully starting the test using Proctored Remote Exam PRExa software. The examination committee provides technical and other necessary assistance to the invigilators and the examinees from online all the time. The Vice-Chancellor and teachers of the University expressed satisfaction over the successful commencement of the second semester examination through PRExa. This method can be tested in a completely authentic and reliable way which is not possible using any other means of video conferencing. This is the first time in Bangladesh that a public university has set an example of successfully testing during the Corona pandemic using such international standard software.
